CEBU, Philippines – The Center for Health Development Region 7 director Dr. Jaime Barnadas announced on Friday, January 31, that the Chinese patient confirmed to have 2019-nCoV only stayed in the Mactan-Cebu International Airport before boarding a flight to Dumaguete City.
The 38-year-old Chinese woman and her boyfriend didn’t go out of the said airport while waiting for their flight to Dumaguete. After arriving from China at the MCIA Terminal 2, they immediately proceeded to Terminal 1 and stayed at the domestic pre-departure area for 3 hours before flying to Dumaguete.
It was earlier reported that based on her travel history, the Chinese woman arrived in the Philippines and went to both Cebu and Dumaguete cities before going to Manila. She’s currently admitted at the San Lazaro Hospital with her boyfriend.
Cebu Pacific Air and Philippine Airlines have begun contact tracing, reaching out to the seatmates of the said patient. Bureau of Quarantine Central Visayas has also started tracing all the possible places the couple would have gone to.
